"Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker." (Psalm 95:6)

"Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker." (Psalm 95:6)

"Worship is first and foremost for His benefit, not ours, though it is marvelous to discover that in giving Him pleasure, we ourselves enter into what can become our richest and most wholesome experience in life."  (Graham Kendrick, as found on page 58 "A Heart For Worship" by Lamar Boschman)

The center of our life as a church is worship. In addition to the personal worship that each member offers throughout the week, we gather together as a covenant family to worship God.

The following are some things that will help to inform you about Sunday morning worship at Evergreen:

"Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker." (Psalm 95:6)

"Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker." (Psalm 95:6)

  •   Worship is focused on God and not on us. Biblical Sermons.
  •    There is a rich blending of contemporary worship songs and favorite hymns.
  •    Most people will be dressed casually (Dockers, slacks, jeans) and some will be dressed more formally (suit and tie, sports jacket, dresses).
  •    The choir sings once or twice each month.
  •    The worship team helps lead all of the congregational singing.
  •    We generally celebrate the Lord's Supper on the first Sunday of the month.
  •    There is nursery service for children up to age 5.
  •    Kids 5 and older and dismissed to Children's Church part way through worship service.

About Us

WORSHIP

Worship is the center of Evergreen’s life together as a church. We recognize that we are imperfect and in need of the life changing power of Jesus Christ. On Sunday mornings the atmosphere is relaxed, dress is casual, the  singing is inspirational and the preaching  is biblical.

Sunday Morning Schedule

  • Choir                                     8:30am
  • Small Groups Bible Study   9:30am
  • Worship Service                 10:45am

Evergreen Church is a place where people gather together to worship and serve the Lord God.

By scripture alone

By faith alone

By grace alone

Through Christ alone

To the glory of God alone

Evergreen Church is a place where people gather together to worship and serve the Lord God.

Our mission is centered on two directive from our Lord Jesus.

Matthew 22:37-39  - The Great Commandment – “Jesus replied, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

Matthew 28:19-20a -  The Great Commission – “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”

Evergreen is a member of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (http://www.epc.org).  Evergreen Church and the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (EPC) can be described as: Presbyterian in government  (governed by Elders) Reformed in theology; Evangelical in passion; Missional in focus.

EPC Essentials of Faith

Our leadership is made up of several boards responsible for governing and providing oversight for organization's affairs. Consider them an executive team of men and women who give oversight and direction to each department and ministry.

The government of this church, under the leadership of the Holy Spirit, is vested in the Elder Board, whose authority is derived from our body of believers. Only members of our organization who are of high character and integrity, who maintain an excellent reputation, and who demonstrate leadership in our ministry may be elected as Elders.

Each person in his or her particular role is committed to the Vision, Mission, and Values of our organization.   In short, when you find your spiritual home with us, you're finding a community for you to trust, learn from, and participate in!
